In May 2016 we held our first Football Tournament and Fun Day in support of The Stroke Association. It was a huge success and a day to remember, which gave us the motivation to hold as an annual event.
The Stroke Association provides vital care, research and support to countless families across the UK. Anyone can be affected by Stroke and it is a charity that our team especially holds close to their hearts and therefore we could not think of a better way to show our support, raise awareness and have a fun-filled day. On the 28th May 2017, ten teams signed up for a day of friendly competition, including Gaia, Manchetts, Multimatic, Bluechip Warranty, Stormafit, Knights Lowe, Greene King, Dirty Dozen and of course our very own Coastline teams. Bluechip Warranty and Drive Vauxhall sponsored the football kits that were designed and printed in-house.
The event was held at the newly built Skyliner Sports Centre in Bury St Edmunds, on the all-weather pitches. Family and friends showed their support and enjoyed a range of activities throughout the day including a Bouncy Castle, Nerf Gun Battle and some football associated activities kindly put on by 442 Football Academy.
We had the generous support of local catering companies The Coffee House, Greene King and Harris’ Hog Roast that provided some delicious refreshments throughout the day. A few volunteers from Tesco also popped along to help with the events team and make sure everyone was hydrated, which was well received in the sunny weather! We also had some volunteers from Stroke Association offering free blood pressure checks and some more information on the charity itself.
A raffle was held on the day with some fantastic prizes donated from our wonderful supportive customers, which were not to be missed out on; festival tickets, gym membership, a meat hamper, local art and much more.
