2018 Wrap Up
21/12/18

Welcome to this week’s Weekly Wrap Up. We’ve got something a little different for you this week – we are wrapping up all of 2018 in one post! Here are our favourite projects from the year.

Have a great Christmas and we will see you all in 2019!

Vehicle Wrap of the Year 2018

We started the year with an interesting project for Pioneer. The brief was to design, print and wrap their new Subaru BRZ in an eye-catching design that would stand out at various shows and events throughout the country. Using a combination of high quality 3M vinyls ranging from their Black Matrix to the increasingly popular and eye-catching 780mc reflective wrap vinyl. The finished car looks as good in the dark when the graphics reflect any available light as they do in the day time.
The car was extremely well received and even went on to win the prestigious ‘Wrap of the year’ award from the independent British Sign & Graphics Awards (BSGA). The Subaru also featured heavily as part of the 3M Wrap Tour.

Skyliner Sports Centre Signage

With a modern new building situated on an up and coming part of Bury St Edmunds the new Sports Centre needed their logo to stand out and get noticed. We used a high tack vinyl applied straight to the cladding at height. Although simple the finished signage looks great and really compliments the building.

Deux Chevaux - 3M Wrap

The 2CV is a design icon around the World and with the car celebrating its 70th Birthday during 2018, a new 2CV legacy has begun. A 1986 Dolly model has been transformed into what we believe to be ‘The World’s Smallest Food Truck‘.  We are looking to secure the global fascination in this amazing little car well into the future, with her dual purpose role as a state-of-the-art food truck and top-notch mobile bar. Our 3M Authorised Wrappers used the 3M Gloss Flip Psychedelic vinyl, making her really stand-out. This flip wrap has so many colours in it, check the video out below to see how they come to life in the sun.

Bury Fish & Chip Shop Signage

Bury Fish and Chip Shop approached us for a full rebrand. Our design team came up with a modern looking logo and consistent branding. We produced and installed a new facia, hanging sign and window graphics for the outside of the restaurant. Inside we fully wrapped one of the walls with a classy looking back and white fishing scene that we digitally printed onto a special wall wrap vinyl in house on one of our eco-solvent wide format printers. Bespoke menus and boards were also designed and printed.

Coastline Football Tournament 2018

After the success of the 2016 & 2017 tournaments, we organised our third Coastline football tournament and Charity fun day! It took place at Skyliner Sports Centre, on the all-weather pitches on Sunday 8th July 2018. Our aim was simply to have a good time, play a few games of football whilst raising money and awareness for GeeWizz – ideally in the sunshine! With 8 teams, plenty of oranges, a bouncy castle and lots of competitive play we raised over £1000. We’re looking forward to our tournament next year, make sure you keep an eye out for when booking is open!

3M Wrap Tour

3M organised the 665-mile trip, which will ran from 3 to 7 October, to highlight the best that modern vehicle wrapping has to offer. The tour support vehicles have an exclusive #3MWrapTour livery designed and wrapped by the team at Coastline, featuring a stunning combination of 1080 Colour Flip films and 780mC Reflective Graphics. Both the Pioneer Subaru and Greene King MG came along to each location with us.

Homegrown Festival

2018 saw Coastline become a main sponsor for the Homegrown Music Festival. We printed a whole range of promotional material ranging from PVC Banners, flags, flyers, H&S signs, directional signs, general event signage, website, merchandise and even the event programmes. Our design team re-designed the logo and updated the brand. The finished result was a visually stunning festival promoting East Anglian new music over a 3 day event.

RAF Chinook Display Team Land Rover

Following other successful collaborative projects with the RAF Red Arrows, we were asked to wrap a Landrover Discovery Sport for the RAF Chinook Display Team. Utilising different materials the finished wrap won industry leader, 3M’s ‘Wrap of the Month’.

RAF Benevolent Fund Aston Martin

Another collaborative project, this time saw us wrapping an Aston Martin DB11 in 3M Matte Navy Blue with complimenting printed graphics to match the livery on the display planes used by the Blades. Raising money and awareness for the RAF Benevolent Fund this project was another roaring success.

Old Speckled Hen MG

Coastline love working with local companies so when the opportunity to be involved with this project for Bury St Edmunds based brewery Greene King came up we were all thrilled. The brief was simple, design, print and install a full vehicle wrap to the Iconic MG Roadster for the Old Speckled Hen brand. Motor company MG and Old Speckled Hen have historic links dating back nearly 40 years so it was vitally important the new wrap reflected both the new brand whilst nodding back to tradition.

Our designers created the concept you see here which has been extremely well received. Utilising our high quality printers to produce this ‘two tone’ style design we completely wrapped the little MG and transformed it into the brand ambassador it is now used as.

World War One Trail

The World War 1 Trail was organised by the My WiSH Charity and Our Bury St Edmunds. The trail marks the centenary of the end of WWI. It features 18 pieces of artwork by local artists in prime town centre locations around Bury St Edmunds and finishes on Armistice Day, on November 11.

Coastline Graphics were delighted to have designed the logo and branding for the trail. The logo portrays the war effort and shows the crucial role men, women and animals played during The First World War. The shape of the rock is the same as that used for the logo we designed for the hugely successful ‘Bury St Edmunds Wolf Trail’ in 2015, showing the affiliation between the two trails.

As well as designing the logo and branding, Coastline designed and printed leaflets featuring a map showing the locations of the 18 pieces of art.

We also manufactured a unique information plaque for each piece of art. The plaques were produced using a variety of materials to suit the different surfaces available to mount them onto. For the signs in The Abbey Gardens for example, we fabricated signs with metal spikes that could be pushed into the ground. For the artworks in the Apex we printed onto a special ‘Street Wrap’ material, laminated with anti-slip lamination and applied these directly to the pavement. For the internal artworks located in shops and restaurants we printed card inserts and mounted them in clear acrylic free standing holders.

House of Harmony Signage

Long term Coastline client ‘House of Harmony’ asked us to produce their large format building signage. Working to a short deadline, we supplied and fitted the new signage in time for the Christmas shoppers!
