Our inception into the world of graphics begin with the provision of basic car vinyls and ‘pin lines’. At the time this was the forefront of vehicle customisation as far as graphics were concerned and the demand was high.

Coastline began life with just one employee.

In the early 1990’s we progressed our vinyl graphic offering by adding various plotters and cutters. This enabled us to offer more complex graphics.

Our first logo was created during this time.

To conclude the millennia we had moved into large premises and were getting busier with a larger and more varied set of clients.

Our logo had it’s first revamp and looked like this. This logo would go on  and stand the test of time for the next 14 years!

As we entered the noughts we found ourselves with a higher demand for printed graphics.

Although plotter cut vinyl remained relevant it seemed that printed media was the way forward. We were continuing to expand and had four to five members of staff during this period.

in 2006 we purchased the well established ‘Tony Goffin Signs’ signage company. This enabled us to expand our sign making capabilities as we added the Tony Goffin staff to our team. We launched our first website in this year which helped us reach an even wider audience and the work thankfully kept coming in!

With the additional staff and equipment coming thick and fast we needed more space. We purchased a much larger building in Bury St Edmunds and had it bespokely laid out to suit our unique requirements. We found Bury St Edmunds to be the perfect location for us, centrally located in East Anglia with easy access to London and a fantastic local community.

With a print revolution in full flow we added our first small format digital printer to our plant list. This enabled us to offer high quality short-run printed material such as stationery, business cards, brochures and flyers. With an impressive client base to offer this new service to, we again needed to recruit to meet the new demand. We also expanded our graphic design team during this time and now had a talented creative department to feed work through into production.

Following our introduction to the small format print scene we now expanded into the larger format print world. We purchased a cutting edge UV printer with the ability to print direct to substrates along with a new flatbed cutting and routing system. This opened up a huge range of possibilities for us and we employed our first print-minders to accommodate the extra work.

CAR FLIPPED

Coastline worked alongside 3M at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2017. Our top vehicle wrapping specialists demonstrated their skill and fitting technique in vinyl application, giving people the opportunity to see how it’s done, ask questions and gain an insight into the work that goes on in our busy company.

This year we designed, printed and wrapped a Subaru BRZ for audio specialists Pioneer. The car went on to win the prestigious ‘Wrap of the year’ award from the independent British Sign & Graphics Awards (BSGA).

2018 was a crazy year, we purchased the second unit, built a new mezzanine floor and turned it into a modern, open plan graphic design studio. The space increased collaboration and interactions between the larger design team.

Coastline continued to invest in new, top of the range technology. Our new Swiss Q Nyala II LED UV Printer was flown in from Switzerland offering a 3.2×2 metre flatbed. This has completely changed our game and we can now offer super high quality printing as well as a fast

In 2019 we celebrate our 30th year anniversary. The company has come such a long way in the last three decades and we now have dedicated teams of employees handling a huge variety of projects.

We even bought design legend David Carson over to the UK!
With new targets and goals on the horizon, we continue to grow and mature and are definitely getting better with age!
